Awesome dumpling spot in suffolk county. I was a little skeptical to try a dumpling spot after working in Flushing so long hut I have this place a try. The food here is outstanding, on par with the best.
I went with an order of soup Dumplings and duck buns. The Dumplings were the perfect consistency and texture. None of them broke before I started eating, which was nice. You can taste quality meat in them, not junk meat. The duck buns were equally as good. The bun was fluffy and thick. The ratio of meat, vegi, and bun was perfect. And the sauce was not overpowering at all.
The price point was normal for the area. A little more expensive for something better quality, which is okay with me. I'd love to go back with friends and try some different items.
Service is great! Food was pretty good. First time having dumplings, so i cant vouche 100% on taste, however, all in all pretty good meal at a great price.
I absolutely love the food here, they have such delicious pork soup dumplings. I'm convinced that any food item on their menu will taste great. I recently tried their sesame ball dessert thing, and while I was hesitant, it was SO TASTY and had such an interesting flavor profile. I would highly recommend this establishment! The only downside is that sometimes the younger female waitress can be a bit rude, but truthfully I couldn't care because of how good the food is.
So many people talk about this edumpling place and I was kind of shocked I've never been there. Tonight was the night we gave it a try.
In Stony Brook there is a dumpling House called red tiger. It is a very small seating area with maybe 8 tables.
We kind of ordered dim sum tonight.
The boy ordered obviously chicken wings. He did not like them but that's because he likes very simple buffalo wings and these were not that. The wife tried them and really enjoyed it. They looked great and I would definitely order them.
The first dish we ordered was steamed pork soup dumplings. They actually have a special this weekend that if you order $50 or more you get a free order of soup dumplings so these wound up being free but were my daughter's favorite. They were hot and fresh and made on site. All of their dumplings are made on site and we're very tasty.
The next one we ordered was scallion pancake with spicy pork. These were my wife's favorite and she doesn't like scallion go figure.
The next one we ordered was spicy kung pao chicken bun. My son actually tried these and said they were his favorite. He has nothing to compare them to but they had a good amount of heat to them and he even ate them knowing they had vegetables inside of them go figure. They were very good.
We ordered shrimp dumplings which honestly nobody really liked.
The next one we ordered was a pan fried Kung Fu bun. It was ground pork that was not spicy and had a good crispy bottom to it. The top of the dumpling was steamed though and soft in texture.
My favorite the charcoal bun was filled with ground beef and sweet corn. Was it visually appealing not really did it taste really good yes definitely
There was an elderly gentleman there that we had a very lovely conversation with he was another patron who says he goes there about once a week. He ordered rice with lobster sauce and there were giant chunks of lobster in this. It looked great
They have black tea which is a big plus for me. They serve boba and milk tea we did not have them but we will next time we're out.
I have to tell you for what we ordered I was pleasantly surprised with the bill. All of this food was just a little bit over 70 bucks.
Future note they do prefer to tip in cash but my daughter stole all of our cash to go out with her friend this afternoon so we didn't have any I had to tip on card which wasn't really a problem.
The place has good food but the price was a bit expensive in my opinion. The portions are huge no doubt. I really liked the shredded beef with peppers it was hot and spicy and they will warn you before ordering. The dumplings were a little disappointing for me the taste was average and the dumplings were dry. Their chili oil is really good and its spicy.
The food is wonderful, the restaurant is very nice, and even the takeout seems to travel better than other dumplings and buns I’ve had. Awesome spot, no notes.
Food is amazing. Haven't tried everything but everything I have tried has been great. Love the spicy pork scallion pancakes, best I've had. Place is small so gets busy quick but that is a sign of a good place.
This is a really small place that gets really crowded. Dumplings and baos are great. Thin noodles w shrimp was great too. They're not that friendly and get swamped so you sometimes have to wait even for online orders.
